2. Safety inspection according to § 29 StVZO

Registration according to §29 StVG regulates a special form of registration for motor vehicles that do not meet the normal technical requirements of road traffic. These motor vehicles are registered due to their special character: Vintage cars, historic motor vehicles, special vehicles and special vehicle designs. The special regulation serves to protect and preserve the historical significance of the vehicles. Registration under §29 is subject to restrictions. The vehicles may only be used on public roads on certain occasions or at certain times and must be inspected regularly to ensure that they meet all technical requirements.

3. Vintage car appraisal according to § 23 StVZO

With the classic car certificate, a classic car is classified as a motor vehicle cultural asset. According to § 2 No. 22 of the Vehicle Registration Ordinance (FZV), a classic car should:

• have been driven for the first time at least 30 years ago
• correspond as far as possible to the original condition
• be in a condition worthy of preservation
