Description
The Audi R8 is the first model generation of the mid-engine sports car from Audi. The name is based on the Le Mans racing prototype. The body is made entirely of aluminum to reduce weight. From fall 2006 to the end of 2014, a total of 26,037 R8s were produced, of which 5,626 were newly registered in Germany.
Since April 2009, the V10 petrol engine with petrol direct injection (FSI) familiar from the Audi S6 C6 has been available in a modified form in the R8. The high-revving engine with a displacement of 5.2 liters achieves a maximum output of 525 hp. The Audi R8 V10 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 316 km/h.
The Audi R8 comes with R Tronic, the automated manual gearbox, which is operated with a gearshift in the center console or with a shift paddle on the steering wheel. The R8 has all-wheel drive from Lamborghini.
