Description
Limited to 918 units, this sports car with high-performance plug-in hybrid drive combines the naturally aspirated V8 engine with 608 hp with two electric motors delivering a total output of 286 hp. The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, making it Porsche's fastest road-legal production sports car. The two-seater with roadster bodywork completes a lap of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 6.57 minutes. The 918 Spyder with electric all-wheel drive has an all-electric range of up to 25 kilometres.
Production at Porsche's main plant in Zuffenhausen was discontinued on 19 June 2015. However, the 918 Spyder continues to serve as a driving force for the further technical development of the hybrid drive concept.
