The Ferrari 360 as successor of the F355 and was built until the appearance of the Ferrari F430 in 2005. From 2003, a road version of the racing version was built, the 360 Challenge Stradale. This model has the same engine as the production 360, but with higher quality parts and more cleanly ground ducts, resulting in a 21 kW increase in power to 317 kW, or 431 hp. The rear of the 360 Challenge Stradale is slightly higher than the front. The exhaust system is partly made of titanium and has a throttle valve in two of the four exhaust pipes. At a certain engine speed, these flaps open. Parts of the bodywork and the interior trim were made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic.
